Private Events FAQs
1. How many guests can Manhatta accommodate for a private event?
Manhatta can accommodate a range of event sizes, from intimate gatherings to larger celebrations and corporate events. Our eight event spaces can accommodate up to 250 guests, depending on the event format and space selected.
2. Can I schedule a site visit before booking?
Absolutely. We encourage prospective clients to schedule a site visit to experience Manhatta’s event spaces firsthand and determine which setting is right for their event.
3. Is there a food and beverage minimum for private events?
Yes. Food and beverage minimums vary by event space, date, time, and event format. Our events team can provide the applicable minimum when preparing your proposal.
4. Are there fees in addition to the food and beverage minimum?
Yes. All events are subject to New York State sales tax and a 24% administrative fee. Depending on the event format and space reserved, a room rental fee may also apply.
5. Is a deposit required to reserve an event space?
Yes. A deposit of 50% is required to reserve a private room. Your reservation is confirmed once Manhatta has received your signed contract and deposit.
6. Can I place a hold on an event date?
Yes. We are happy to place a complimentary hold on your preferred date, subject to availability. Holds remain in place until challenged by another interested party, at which point you will have the opportunity to confirm your reservation.
7. When is the final guest count due?
Final guest count and food and beverage selections are due 15 days prior to your event.
8. Do you accommodate dietary restrictions and food allergies?
Yes. Our culinary team is happy to accommodate dietary restrictions, food allergies, and food aversions whenever possible. We kindly ask that you notify us in advance so our chefs can prepare thoughtful substitutions for your guests.
9. Do you offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options?
Yes. We offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options and are happy to work with you on dietary accommodations for your event.
10. Can we bring in outside vendors?
Outside vendors may be permitted with prior approval and must comply with Manhatta and building requirements. Audio visual services must be provided by one of Manhatta’s approved AV partners. All vendors working onsite are required to provide a Certificate of Insurance prior to the event.
11. Do vendors need to provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI)?
Yes. All vendors working onsite must submit a valid Certificate of Insurance before the event date.
12. Can we bring our own wine or champagne?
Yes. Corkage is available at $35 per 750 mL bottle and $70 per magnum (1.5 L) or larger. A maximum of six bottles is permitted unless prior arrangements have been made.
13. Can I extend my event beyond the contracted time?
The food and beverage minimum and menu pricing are based on a three-hour event. Extensions may be available with advance approval and additional charges apply.
14. Do you provide tables, chairs, linens, and place settings?
Yes. Standard soft gray linens, gray leather dining chairs, china, flatware, and glassware are provided at no additional charge.
15. How do guests access Manhatta’s event spaces?
Guests enter through 28 Liberty Street, between Nassau and William Streets. After checking in on the lower level, elevators provide access to Manhatta on the 60th floor.
16. Are there dedicated elevators for private event guests?
No. The elevators are shared by restaurant and private event guests and provide direct service to the 60th floor.
17. Is there a coat check?
Yes. Complimentary coat check is available on the street level and is shared by both restaurant and private event guests.
18. Is valet parking available?
No. While valet parking is not available, several public parking garages are located within walking distance of 28 Liberty Street.
19. Are there hotels and public transportation near Manhatta?
Yes. Manhatta is conveniently located near several public transportation options and a variety of hotels throughout Lower Manhattan and the surrounding area. Our events team is happy to provide recommendations for nearby accommodations and transportation options to help make planning your event as seamless as possible.
Weddings FAQs
1. Can I schedule a site visit for my wedding?
Absolutely. We encourage couples to schedule a site visit to experience Manhatta’s event spaces and discuss their plans with our events team.
2. Do I need a wedding planner or day-of coordinator?
A professional wedding planner or day-of coordinator is required for any wedding ceremony hosted onsite. While our events team manages all venue and hospitality details, we do not provide wedding coordination services.
3. Can I host both my wedding ceremony and reception at Manhatta?
Yes. Manhatta can host both wedding ceremonies and receptions, allowing couples to celebrate their day in one setting.
4. Can I have a DJ or live music at my wedding at Manhatta?
Yes. DJs and live entertainment are welcome, subject to venue and building requirements.
5. Can I host a rehearsal dinner at Manhatta?
Yes. Manhatta can accommodate rehearsal dinners and other wedding-related gatherings.
Our events team can recommend a space and menu based on your group size and plans.
6. Can we bring in our own wedding vendors?
Outside vendors may be permitted with prior approval and must comply with building requirements. All vendors working onsite must provide a valid Certificate of Insurance before the event.

Corporate Events FAQs
1. Can I schedule a site visit for a corporate event?
Absolutely. We encourage prospective clients to schedule a site visit to experience the event spaces firsthand and discuss the needs of their program with our events team.
2. Is there a food and beverage minimum for corporate events?
Yes. Food and beverage minimums vary by event space, date, time, and event format. Our events team can provide the applicable minimum when preparing your proposal.
3. Are there fees in addition to the food and beverage minimum?

Yes. Manhatta partners with two preferred audiovisual companies that can provide everything from microphones and presentations to full-scale production. Outside AV vendors are not permitted.
