Andrea Verardo

Food and Beverage Director

Andrea Verardo is the Director of Operations, overseeing performance, managing teams, and creating extraordinary guest experiences at Manhatta. Originally from Genoa Italy, Andrea started working as a server at his local, neighborhood trattoria at the young age of 15. It was there that he first realized his deep love of food and wine, alongside his natural knack for hospitality and passion for hosting.  

Curious to continue learning and exploring a career in hospitality, Andrea began traveling and working in luxury hotels, spending time in Italy, England, and Dubai. After a few years, Andrea decided to move to the United States and landed in the Berkshires, working as the restaurant manager and wine director at the renowned Wheatleigh Hotel. In the quiet winters, he began visiting New York City and fell in love with the bustling environment and dynamic restaurant scene. Andrea pivoted from working in hotels to dedicating his career to restaurants, spending seven years in management positions across James Beard-awarded and Michelin-starred restaurants, such at Del Posto, Jonathan Benno, and Le Coucou, before landing as Director of Operations in October 2023. 

When Andrea’s not at Manhatta, you'll find him enjoying soccer matches while savoring a glass of champagne, cooking challenging dishes with his wife, or fishing with friends, like he did throughout his childhood in Portofino.
